Longo: Announcement imminent as Bennacer agreed to Milan renewal in January

By Isak Möller -

Ismael Bennacer was the big hero for AC Milan in their game against Cagliari last night as he scored the only goal. It was quite the strike as well, and soon he will sign a renewal with the club.

The midfielder’s current deal, which is worth €1.5m per year, will expire in 2024 and there is also a €50m release clause included. Milan have been in talks over a new contract for quite some time now and an agreement has been reached.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri reached an agreement with Bennacer at the end of the January. The new deadline will be 2026 and only the official announcement is missing.

Milan just need to find the right date for the usual photo shoot, per the reporter. It remains to be seen when that will be, seeing as the Rossoneri are currently focused on the Scudetto race and the Coppa Italia. The fans seemingly don’t have to be worried about Bennacer’s renewal, though.

  1. Bye bye Kessie, thanks for a good year or two? But Bennacer/Tonali are better players overall and are the future. So glad to see Bennacer play this way again.
