Longo: Denials arrive regarding Milan’s alleged offer to Real Madrid full-back

By Oliver Fisher -

Denials have arrived regarding the rumours from Spain suggesting AC Milan have made the best offer to Marcelo of Real Madrid.

Diario AS reported yesterday that there are a number of teams interested in signing Marcelo for next season after his exit from Real Madrid has been confirmed, and Milan are the team who have made the most concrete offer to him.

The Rossoneri have presented Marcelo with a proposal that would guarantee him €3m net per year, but it seems that the Brazilian is not convinced by the idea of playing for Milan at that amount given it would be half of the €6m he got at Real Madrid.

However, Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com is reporting that while Milan and Marseille will compete in friendly match at the end of July, they are not currently competing to sign Marcelo.

He adds that neither of them has submitted an offer to date the Brazilian full-back, contrary to the speculation above about a contract offer worth €3m.
