Longo: ‘Hot weeks’ ahead as Milan want to complete another 4-5 signings

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have signed five players this summer, three of which can be considered staters, but they don’t intend to stop now. Quite the opposite, in fact, as they want to sign another 4-5 players.

The likes of Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Romero and Christian Pulisic have been announced by the club. Tijjani Reijnders will undergo his medical on Monday/Tuesday and that will take the total tally up to five players.

According to Daniele Longo, there are ‘hot weeks’ ahead as Milan want to sign another 4-5 players before the transfer window closes. The new management have been working with great patience but also determination, as evidenced by Reijnders negotiations.

One can speculate about the positions Milan still want to strengthen. Fode Ballo-Toure is expected to leave and thus a new deputy left-back will be needed, while another midfielder appears to be a priority as well.

Then, of course, the Rossoneri also want a right-winger as they have been linked with both Samuel Chukwueze and Arnaut Danjuma. Reinforcement is also needed up front and Mehdi Taremi is one of the targets. And that would be four signings in total.

  1. We will see if they follow through. And we can’t sign Taremi and Chukwueze. That’s a decision we will have to make due to non-EU limitations.

    1. Exactly, but just mentioned those as examples of targets for each position. Danjuma + Taremi still works. Left-back, midfielder, right-winger and striker = 4 signings.

  2. After that Thuram fiasco, we must admit the buying department of this current management deserves nothing but a credit. I do hope that we can say the same thing about the selling department. Selling a key players won’t cut as a success story. If they’re able to get rid of the ‘deadwoods’ with a decent amount, that’ll be a major success.

  3. They should have brought in Tadic for 1 season. He is better than any of the targets even at this age. Put all that money into a striker and one more midfielder.

    1. Yeah, so what? He wanted to stay at Ajax, he didn’t reject Milan to leave for a different club. He is a great 1-2 season solution and he can play anywhere in front of central midfielders.

      1. If anything, this moneyball won’t do anything that only has 1-2 seasons solution time span and moreover with 34 y.o. football player. And the dude has flown to Istanbul too.

        1. Tadic is near retirement and way past his best. Not a better choice at all compared to signing Danjuma on loan. You must be smoking something… your comments have been all over the place lately. We’re not a retirement home.

Signing Danjuma on loan with an option to buy makes sense, if we want to sign a striker and another midfielder.

  4. I haven’t seen information on the total budget for this mercato for some time! Before the sale of Tonali, there was talk of some 35 million euros!? I hope they will add to that amount the money received from the English. I’m trying to calculate how much money is left for those 4-5 players.

    1. Tonali 70m euro + 35m euro total 105m euro budget . Already use 16m euro RLC + reijnders 20m euro + pulisic 20m euro + signing fee romero that free transfer 5m euro total spend 61m euro . Budget left 44m euro but ACM can still get more budget if success sell rebic ,origi , junior messias ( or saladmaker ) ,caldara, ballo toure

  5. but we cant sign anymore any non eu player the limitation is 2 and that 2 are RLC england and Pulisic USA so no chuk no taremi so the signings are at least 7 nice no replacement for tonali giroud kessie no backup LB RB ST LW CDM no proper RW LCB CAM CM/CDM nice management

    1. People like you love to spread lies because you are still salty about Maldini’s sacking

AC Maldini fanbase is so weird

      1. Bro, you are the weirdest by far. You literally chase people around to tell them their opinion is like that because they were against Maldini sacking. Something is really really wrong with you mentally, some real issues there.

        1. You love supporting people who show negativity toward Milan

seek help, you sound dumb most of the time

and calling everyone “bro” lmao, that just confirms you are one of those 15 year olds who think they are smarter than everyone

          1. This kid @Boulden has some severe metal problems. Wow. Nobody has mentioned Maldini except you kid. Move on you donkey you are Embarassing yourself lol

        2. Where do you see mesupporting people that show negativity towards Milan? You are lying again.

Your only comment is how Maldini something something something. You something Maldini.

Read a book, learn something new.

          P.S. You are lying again.

          1. So you’re fine with someone posting a lie about a player we signed? Pulisic has an EU passport. The Maldini fanboy said he didn’t.

          2. Hahahaha!!! Exactly @ IKWYDLS – @Boulden is definitely @Pioli who suddenly disappeared LOLOLOLO. That or they are kissing cousins lol

  6. New players plus another 4-5? That’s a LOT of integration and chemistry that has to develop in preseason. Not a lot of continuity just with Krunic in the middle from the old guard.

A bit worried. Will these players gel well together and develop an understanding? Pioli will be in a hot seat this season. He better work magic.
