Noah Okafor could part ways with AC Milan this summer and the money from his departure could be used to sign a second striker, according to a report.
Okafor has been linked with several clubs so far this summer, with Flamengo being the latest side to join the race, and it feels like a matter of time before he leaves. That being said, he’s still part of the Milan squad and he showed that today.

Coming off the bench in the friendly against Liverpool, he bagged himself two goals and was given a 7.5/10 in our player ratings after the game. In short, he still has a lot of quality and it remains to be seen how Milan will approach this.
Okafor to make way for a signing
According to Daniele Longo, who tweeted the update late last night, Milan are in the market for an attacking winger who can play as a second striker as well. With Okafor attracting interest from both Flamengo and Bologna, it’s a sale that could pave the way for such a signing.
The brace against Liverpool, as such, is a huge positive for the Rossoneri as it will help them in negotiations. The finish on the first goal was just brilliant and he combined well with his teammates too, so it has raised his stock.
It’s unlikely that Milan will have second doubts on whether to keep him in the squad or not, but you never know. Max Allegri might take him off the mercato permanently to assess him in a few more friendlies. But again, it seems unlikely.
He just scored twice against one of the best teams in the world. Surely he’s worth a chance ’til January?
Saelemakers is way better on the wing and in attack there will be no space for him in the end.

No, I think he’s worth a chance ’til January.
He’s not. He is a VERY mediocre player. We should get rid of him as soon as possible. Two goals in a friendly, one of them coming out of a silly mistake by Liverpool, won’t change the fact that Okafor is not very good. He’s been with us for long enough for everybody including Allegri to know perfectly well what he’s worth and what he’s not worth. That the club wants to sell him without any resistance from Allegri, who actually actively tried to block the managers from selling Saelemaekers (who is much better than Okafor) should tell you all that you need to know about Okafor’s skills.
This said, in case we don’t hire another center forward, then I’d keep Okafor because he can be a decent sub for the last minutes of a game, in order to give Gimenez some rest. He has had some success in that position; not enormous but since we unwisely got rid of Abraham and Jovic and loaned out Camarda, for the sheer factor of muscle strain for Gimenez if he continues to be our only CF, I’d keep someone who can at least play there, although not very well (and much worse then Abraham, Jovic, and Camarda).

Well… Remember how many important goals he scored during his first season with Milan? Clearly not as “VERY mediocre” players wouldn’t do that.
He’s decent when he’s in form. He should stay as there’s no way in h3ll we’d find anyone better for the same money.
He didn’t show anything good (aside from few very separate matches) for a full year in Milan. He was not even good enough to be a rotation player for Napoli. So no, he is not going to magically play at the top level, just because he scored a goal in a friendly game in Honolulu.
The only good thing this could do is someone will fall for him believing he is a quality player (and don’t get me wrong, for likes as Bologna he can actually be quality, just not at Milan).

It’s Chukwueze Milan should look to sell and get Chiesa. Okafor can play as a 2nd striker and Chiesa can play both left and right wing and as a 2nd striker. I don’t see a need for Chukwueze though.
Okafor has three years left on a low salary, to me it makes sense to dry loan him out unless there’s a particularly good offer. He could do with a proper run of games somewhere with a bit less pressure but he’s got plenty of talent.

Agreed. Problem is there arent many Chukwueze buyers. Hes often linked to Fulham but either he doesn’t wanna go or they arent serious, its media invention. Because any EPL club can afford the €20-25mn we’d ask to recoup our investment

The two goals and his work rate, will give the management a rethink. I think, if given more playing time, he will come good. He has this thing about him when he comes on as a sub, and, it’s just with Milan. I hope Allegri can fire up those flames.
The problem is consistency. He wasn’t really at his best against Arsenal. Amd that makes a it difficult to take a chance on him. I still think he has not reached his full potential, something either a different environment or a coach with ideas will help unlock. And we can’t afford him performing at this level every other 6 games…it was pretty much the story of most of our squad members (Chuck, Tomori, Okafor, RLC, Jovic, Tammy…), that it’s why it is difficult to take a long term view with these players.

We also badly need a right back. All these are priorities over having still another winger.
If we continue to play with back 3, we don’t really need a right back. Alexis dan Alex should cover that role well enough.

No, Okafor should leave, I remember when Milan wanna sign him and then all video about him was always when he took Milan defender, only that video nothing else and Milan boss think he is good enough for milan… For me now Okafor still not good enough for Milan neither for leao deputy or as tip of a spear

If Okafor leaves a winger is an outright necessity. We’d only have Rafa, Pulisic and Chuk
