AC Milan have set their sights on Hakim Ziyech once again as they have given up on signing Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma. However, just like the latter, this isn’t an easy operation for the Rossoneri.
Ziyech has been linked with a move to Milan for many months and as the links died out in recent weeks, the matter seemed settled. However, after missing out on Zaniolo, the Rossoneri have turned to the winger again.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan recently held talks with Chelsea over Ziyech and the idea is a loan, either dry or with a buy-out option. Everton are also interested and could make an offer for a permanent move, which could complicate things.
Of course, Milan aren’t able to offer as much salary-wise either compared to the Premier League sides. It remains to be seen if there will be an opening for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to snatch Ziyech, because they will surely pounce if so.

I don’t understand this flip flopping. We were going after Zaniolo just because he’s 23 and Italian? Ziyech is clearly the better player and the one who can actually help us out on the right wing. Baffling.

This is completely made up. There is a rule in PL, they have 8 loan slots per season and Chelsey used all of them, they can not loan any more players, they can only sell.
So no, Milan is not talking to them, nor have they tried talking to them, because Milan’s January transfer budget is ZERO. So they can only loan (without any loan fees) aka story above is complete and utter BS.

DiMarzo confirmed this via Twitter: “ A move for Ziyech to Milan in January is excluded as the the Rossoneri are only willing to make signings on loan this month while Chelsea can only sell him permanently as they have already used the 8 loan slots of the season that are granted to them by the rules.”
So either M&M are incredibly incompetent for not knowing this before engaging in talks w Chelsea or it was all BS to begin with. Either way we look pretty foolish and pathetic.
