Longo: ‘Morata factor’ crucial as Milan carried out ‘the signing of the year’

Alvaro Morata has been on fire in the last few games and as has been highlighted by many, he’s the perfect leader for AC Milan. Daniele Longo has gone one step further by stating that his arrival is the signing of the year.

Morata bagged his second goal for Milan in the 3-0 win against Lecce and just like against Inter, he worked incredibly hard. He got a 7/10 in our player ratings and was named the MOTM by Gazzetta dello Sport, getting a 7.5/10.

As Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com adds, the ‘Morata factor’ cannot be underestimated as he’s making a huge difference at Milan. The role of second striker suits him perfectly, tying together the midfield and attack while working hard for the team and never holding back.

He chases everything down like he’s a youngster trying to prove a point, but he was also brought in to score goals. Yesterday, he did that with a true No.9 movement and a brilliant header, changing the mood as the game was initially a bit complicated for Milan.

Considering that Milan paid just 13m for his services in the summer, as Longo concludes, Morata is certainly en route to becoming the ‘best signing of the year’.

  1. Idk about signing of the year but I think with player like Giroud leaving Morata is the perfect team player. People like this have a positive contribution to the locker room.
