AC Milan are no longer in the market for a right-back as the management believes the current set of players are more than enough for Stefano Pioli. In fact, he has four players for that role.
Milan have been linked with a few right-backs this summer, such as Ivan Fresneda and Wilfried Singo, but the Rossoneri have decided to scrap any plans of signing a right-back. Not just because they have spent much already, but also because they already have many players for that role.
As highlighted by Daniele Longo, Stefano Pioli has Davide Calabria, Alessandro Florenzi, Pierre Kalulu and even Alex Jimenez at his disposal for the role. The latter arrived from Real Madrid this summer and will mainly play with the Primavera, but he could also be included in the matchday squad on a regular basis.
Instead, Milan are focused on signing a new left-back as Fode Ballo-Toure is expected to leave the club. That is certainly more urgent given that the Rossoneri really only have Theo Hernandez and Ballo-Toure for that role.

For LB you can say the same thing bakoune and bozzolan from academy plus Jimenez
Florenzi and Calabria are not so reliable ( old or injury prone) also Kalulu hasn’t been spectacular last season. I will give the chance to younger players for the RB role, maybe Jimenez
Maybe in January window I’m sure he will change his mind eventually because that’s the possible scenario. From most of the players only Sportielo and Romero has serie a experience which is sad to see. We could totally gotten parisi but no try to get Pellegrini now lol . And not get Dominguez or hjulmand for cm and no singo for RB . Also should we believe longo? I mean pioli doesn’t use players from primavera in league nor CL so why start now . And rely on kjaer and florenzi who they doesn’t play not even 15 games nice 👍
If Kalulu plays as RB, then we should be looking for a CB then.
tbh, Kalulu and Fik struggled a bit last season. Kalulu is still so young so I hope he hits the gym more because he isn’t physically tough. That’s why Thiaw has emerged as our main CB in the past months. I do prefer Thiaw – Fik as our starting CBs. Shifting Kalulu to RB might do. He’s fast and intelligent, hopefully he learns how to cross and gains more muscle.
I think the decision of adding new cb would come late at this mercato if the assessment over the young Simic deemed him not yet insufficient. The kid show some promise in the earlier preseason and could comes handy in the season ahead
but, I honestly think that we shouldn’t miss out the chance to sign Singo.. none of our RBs has been solid.. Calabria is our captain yet he’s always been overlooked in the National Team. Same like Romagnoli, It’s as clear as daylight that he’s just not good enough. But since we lacks personality on the pitch we don’t have many options but to make him our capitano, afterall he’s our academy player and all.
AGree Calabria has to improve this season, otherwise his place and the captaincy is at stake..

Calabria and Florwnzi are Scraps and they were part of our Failure last season .
It is non sense to be given salaries.
They have to be sent out ad Rapic and Messies,Kjear,Toure.

Milan needs a good, natural, right-back. Torino’s interests in Messias is our chance to get Singo. We should sell Florenzi, to create room for him. All the players we have used at the right-back position have not been convincing. We cannot spend so much on the middle, and attack, and leave our defence vulnerable.
We absolutely need to upgrade RB. Calabria is way to slow. He was abused by tons of players and not even superstars — Darko Lazovic of Verona last year embarrassed Calabria as well as others on relegation level teams. I love Florenzi; but he’s old. He’s way better offensively and delivers excellent crosses but there’s no way he stays healthy (I hope I’m wrong).
Kalulu is fast and can get forward and like someone above said he’s really too skinny to be centerback. He also takes too many chances for a centerback. I think with Tomori, Thiaw and an injury prone Kjaer that we also need to sign a CB because I think Kalulu is honestly our best RB option.
