The Sporting Judge has announced that Mike Maignan will be suspended for one game for something that happened after the Lazio match.
With the press release from the Sporting Judge which was released this afternoon, some surprise news emerged: Maignan has been suspended for one match and will miss the away match in Lecce scheduled for Saturday 8 March at 18:00 CET.
The reason for the disqualification is mentioned in the statement and can be traced back to the post-match of Milan-Lazio: “for having, at the end of the match, in the tunnel leading to the locker rooms, addressed a disrespectful expression to the referee.”
The Frenchman was also fined €15,000 for uttering the phrase. Strahinja Pavlovic will also be disqualified against Lecce, having been sent off midway through the second half of the match against the Biancocelesti.
The penalty awarded during added time at the end of Milan-Lazio in favour of the Biancocelesti for Maignan’s challenge on Isaksen was certainly controversial.
Despite the fact that he took a touch almost at a right angle and the ball was going for a goal kick, and the fact Isaksen kept running into the goalkeeper, the referee was called over to the VAR monitor and gave the spot kick after just one replay.
Phew. Finally. Get some rest and rest the head.
Torriani is more than capable
Yep. I’m very much hoping Torriani gets the chance, but I’m guessing ConceiCiao will opt for Sportiello. If Torriani gets the gloves and does well it could give the club something to think about during this summer “rebuild”. We need more Italians and more academy graduates. Milan’s DNA will only be rediscovered when we reconstitute our Italian core, and academy sub-core.
Yea I figure he might go with the more senior player. Wishes he pull a Miha though and have the courage. Torr did well in preseason and his composure is impressive for his age. His reflexes are pretty good too and his ability on the ball is satisfactory
If you think a young goalkeeper can replace that easily, then goodluck for your brilliance.
Yes, that’s true. Imagine a team playing a 16 year old keeper for instance. That would be terrible
If I remember correctly he was conceding a lot, but also the they played way differently then they do now, considering they play out the back alot morw now and are pressed pretty heavily by every team.
gold.
That was my first thought too.
He did look like he was 23 by the age of 16
That’s a whole new level of mocking from the ref team.
If I could be a fly on the wall, just to hear the disrespectful expression that has a price tag of 15k EUR.
How can we not think there is a conspiracy against Milan. Every day Inzaghi is roasting the refs as incompetent and then this. What did Mike say/do? After that bs call you’d expect some emotion…
He has been leaking goals in every single match. I cannot care any less if we have to deploy a youth keeper. It is not like we are winning with Maignan in goal anyway.
You want donnaruma back ? We fans are something else we have one of the best gk in he world or Europe yet some fans complain.. they say the best defense is attack so no Mike’s problem tho
I said only one name in the post and it was Maignan.
Good luck trying to get me attached to and argue against your weird train of thoughts. What a weirdo
