CM: Maignan could miss the whole of January as Milan ponder taking quick action

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may be forced into action in the transfer window as the possibility has arisen that Mike Maignan could miss the whole of January, a report claims.

According to, the scans that Maignan underwent have not brought good news for Milan ahead of Christmas. The goalkeeper underwent new checks today and there have been no signs of recovery.

The current state of his calf muscle is not yet satisfactory enough for him to move on to the next stage of his recovery, so that has been postponed until the next year when further tests will be conducted.

Maignan will undergo new exams in two weeks, but the possibility is taking shape that the problem will keep the former Lille goalkeeper out for the whole month of January.

Milan are waiting for further developments and could decide to try and rush through a move for Marco Sportiello, with whom terms have already been agreed ahead of a free transfer next summer.

    1. Future GK? We already got Maignan who is in his prime years. And younger than that, there is Jungdal, who is highly rated.

It’s hard because we need the keeper to be ready right now, as Tata won’t convince anyone with his performance and Maignan record is bad.

      1. if jungdal that highly rated then he should have get the nod before tata.

i get the point tho. things will work out fine as long as they are as capable and a better upgrade than tata.

  1. This is incredible! Something must have gone wrong! Any team cannot be without any key player for a long time. Definitely, if the team aspires to continue to be a contender in the title race and compete in international cups, a good quality goaler is urgently required.

  2. 1. Hope mighty mike will not do a marco van basten and retire at 25 years …..

    2. Wonder if milan are being compensated by french federation once maignan got injured with french national side.

    3. What about Sirigu? – but then Napoli for sure will not allow him to join milan!!!
