AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara opted to watch the World Cup final with the squad in Dubai rather than fly to Doha to be there in person, a report claims.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri executives had the opportunity to head to Qatar and be at the 2022 World Cup final in person but they opted to stay with the players at Milan’s Dubai training camp.
Two Milan players were involved in the final but it may have been for the better that Massara and Maldini did not travel as they would have watched Olivier Giroud be taken off in the first half, and Theo Hernandez struggle to make any real positive impact in the game.
There is also a logistical sense to remaining in Dubai because the squad will be flying back to Milan on Tuesday so the directors will want to be with everyone.
