CorSera: Maldini chooses the right reinforcement for the attack with €20m bid ready

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management have already decided on their number one target to reinforce the attack on the transfer market, a report claims.

Reinforcements will be needed despite Milan’s excellent start to the season in Serie A, both because of the injuries that have severely dented the options available to Stefano Pioli but also because this has exposed that the depth is not good enough in some areas to compete in competitions like the Champions League.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive) reports that Paolo Maldini and the club have already chosen the man they want to bring in ahead of the 2022-23 season and it is 21-year-old River Plate forward Julian Alvarez.

Alvarez is regarded as a young player with quality, potential to grow but also one with enough experience under his belt to make an instant impact in Europe. River Plate however have already received expressions of interest from Spanish and German clubs in recent weeks, but Milan have €20m ready to try and complete the deal.
