GdS: Man Utd open their stance regarding centre-back – music to the ears of Milan

By Mitchell Wilks -

AC Milan have been given a boost in their pursuit of a defensive signing in January, with Manchester United now open to letting Eric Bailly leave on loan.

The news, reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), is ‘music to the ears’ of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, with the Rossoneri still prioritising a loan transfer over a permanent deal this month.

Bailly’s involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast remains an obstacle in completing any possible deal, but Milan are expected to take a step back and assess their options in the coming days, following news of United’s willingness to let the defender leave on loan.

The 27-year-old is the preferred profile of player Milan would like to recruit and remains top of the list according to the report, with a plan B consisting of a younger target, with Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga being mentioned.
