It is a deal that has been in the pipeline for a couple of weeks now, and it appears that Manchester City will sign Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan.
It is no surprise that Reijnders is in demand given that he racked up 15 goals and six assists, after getting four of each in 50 games last season. Before the last game of the season, he was presented with the Lega Serie A Team of the Season award, crowning him as the best midfielder in the league.

However, it seems that the Dutchman has already played his last game for Milan, because Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign him as per multiple reports on Wednesday morning.
Reijnders to City: A done deal
Fabrizio Romano writes: “Reijnders to Manchester City, here we go! Verbal agreement in place for Dutch midfielder to join Man City. Deal almost done since yesterday as revealed and now being finalised for package worth around €70m. Personal terms sealed days ago and formal steps to follow.”
Meanwhile, Sky also claim that Milan and Tijjani Reijnders are close to parting ways. His transfer to the Premier League is getting closer and closer and a basic agreement has been reached for a figure of around €70m, bonuses included.
Reijnders’ sale, including bonuses, could become the most expensive transfer ever in the history of Milan. At the moment, in fact, the record has stood since the distant summer of 2009: Kakà to Real Madrid, for €67m.
Finally, Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Reijnders will join Manchester City – crucially before the Club World Cup in the United States, too – for a figure of €70m which is inclusive of add-ons.

I understand the disappointment, but the truth is as much as we may blame Fonseca and Sergio, the team was God awful and Tiji was the one decent player in a group of badly performing players, so if we invest wisely we can get someone a lot more suited to Milan and with a higher ceiling, i think Tara has been very shrewd and will have a list of options that will unlock our transfer window once we get the funds from this sale.
Also remember sometimes it is not so much the amount of the transfer but how it is paid, maybe they accepted the transfer because of the terms of payment, as we need money NOW not 18 months or 3 years down the.line.
I think a lot more fans need to educate themselves on this part of the transfer window and that is the terms of how the money is to be paid in my humble opinion

I can’t quite understand why this club need to entertain football Europe with players available to buy from us. When a club like Barcelona, struggling financially can keep hold of their best/attractive players. And please, don’t say that we missed out on CL next season or Serie A are pass their glory days that we have to , I know that. Ain’t like the bureaucratic Italy is going to save this club by letting them build their own stadium so they can have some income. So, how are going to be there on top?

Its the ownership. We are owned by an investment fund so we are run now like an investment fund. They care about capital gain and nothing else. Our management has no money even for top players salaries, yet they give themself double the salary of what normally management gets. There is just no care for the footballing side or what this club represents with it’s history.

Elliott was an investment fund and they dragged this club out of debt and irrelevance and made it profitable while delivering the club it’s first Scudetto in 10 years.

Who will replace him tho? For now the only mids we are connected to are 40 year old Modric and Rabiot who wasn’t doing really good in his last Juve years. They are both cheap tho so i guess that’s what makes them good candidates. In the meantime other clubs are looking for young talents or established stars.

70m is a fair price for someone with one very good season in a top 5 league. I’d like to have seen him stay personally, but the deal is a good one.
Your thinking is flawed, by your your own logic Gyokeres would then be a €15m player because he had NO GOOD SEASONS in a Top 5 league.
Not too excited to see the numbers. City is desperate in getting KdB replacement. And we know how deep is their pocket. Hopefully we won’t get 3-4 Musahs as the replacement.

Before we talk about selling this player and that player first we must think about is there a concrete buyer in the first place.
So far only city the ones who came with concrete offer, the others are just rumours.

Tonali was a good business.
He was nowhere near the level people here talk about.

He only has 1 good season when he paired with kessie who was a beast in the scudetto season.
If i had to choose i’d rather have kessie than tonali.
First season tonali was like a lost child in the field, he hid behind his opponent, never even tried to took the ball.
3rd season without kessie he was lost again although not as bad as his 1st season.
He was 21 when he joined, FFS. He was only getting better, and he was about to be the leader.
Tell me who you can count as a leader in this team. Leadership is so underrated in a big team, it’s either among the players, the manager, or the management. Better if they have one in each department.

He played with his heart sure but he was not a leader.
Again, he was only good when he had kessie next to him when pioli first played with double pivot.
Without kessie he was only decent.

Reijnders has had 1 good year and defensively is a liability. Take the money and use it wisely, it will be a good move.
