Marca: Milan lead Barcelona in centre-back chase as PSG plot summer revolution

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could find themselves in the perfect position to land centre-back Thiago Silva this summer with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly not looking to keep him.

The Brazil international played for Milan from 2009 until 2012 before leaving for Paris Saint-Germain, and was a key part of the team that won the most recent Scudetto in 2010-11.

There have been rumours about a return given that his deal expires in June. We recently revealed via our mercato expert Vito Angele that Milan are considering the idea of reuniting Thiago Silva with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for next season, eight years after they departed Milano for the French capital.

Now, an update has arrived from Spanish outlet Marca, claiming that PSG will begin a revolution this summer centred around Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, while Thiago Silva and Edinson Cavani – two veterans – will leave.

Thiago Silva is wanted by Barcelona, the Spanish newspaper writes, but the option of a return to Milan cannot be excluded. In fact, the Brazilian’s agent has in fact opened the doors to a possible return to the Rossoneri, potentially reuniting with another hero from the last Scudetto season in Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
