Marca: PSG eye Milan, Man Utd and Man City stars in mission to replace Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain have once again been linked with a move for Rafael Leao as they look for potential Kylian Mbappe replacements.

According to Marca, PSG are in the market for a player to take the spot of Mbappe, who will depart the club on a free transfer given that his deal has expired and he made it public that he will not be renewing.

Luis Enrique insists on strengthening other positions, especially in those in which the level has not been achieved to take a step forward and compete for his first Champions League title with the club.

However, there is no doubt that Mbappe is a huge loss for the Asturian coach, and if he wants to compete for more than just the French Cup and Ligue 1, he needs a big name replacement.

The question is whether the project is attractive enough for top players who approach Mbappé’s level, and also which players that Luis Campos and Enrique might consider to be a fit.

The names that have already been put on the table are Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Napoli, Bernardo Silva of Manchester City, Rafael Leao of Milan and Victor Osimhen of Napoli.

All are top names and most are either closer to other teams or staying with their current club rather than the Parisian team, but if PSG decide to spend big things could change.

Sky recently reported that Leao is unlikely to leave Milan this summer because the club do not have the need to sell and the winger is happy to stay.

  1. They don’t even need to replace him. Dembele, asensio, barcola, kang and that Simmons on loan in Germany… how much more offensive players do they need? Ramos and Kolo on ST…

    Hoarders

    1. From what filters, they want a world class player at left winger. Also for commercial purpose. They can afford it and they need a star after Neymar, Messi and Mbappé left. Barcola is still young and doesn’t have that star power. Nasser is a “footix” as we say in France, he only understands football by the prism of star power. It can explain how they failed despite investing massively, because they think global brand first. So PSG needs to make a big signing this summer to make people forget the failure of Mbappé leaving for free after years of UCL struggle. Also, Jorge Mendes could try to move Leao to get his big commission and he knows very well that PSG can splash the money he’s looking for, and he’s working very closely with them for two years now.

I’m concerned but let’s see, maybe our management values the star power of Leao and can refuse big offers.

      1. Ah the good ol we NEED to buy a star.. yup that makes sense. Easy life when a country is bankrolling.

If they offer anything over 100M for Leao Milan should do like Frozen and let it go. He isn’t a star and his lazy a$s can pretty easily be replaced.

        1. Yeah and Nasser was invited at the Élysée a few weeks ago with Qatar’s king/emperor/whatever. French government granted tax relief to PSG star players to make the club and Ligue 1 more attractive for them.

But I disagree concerning the sale of Leao, he’s our only offensive world class player and we don’t need that money now. Fonseca is Portuguese and maybe Zlatan will be closer to the team next year so they can help him achieve the greatness he evidenced when he was elected Serie A MVP.

          1. He is not world class. He might be our best offensive player but a guy who disappears for monts, not weeks, is not world class. Imao he is holding the teams back..but that could also go down to pioli and his 💩 tactics.

Also the mvp was a scam. He was not the best player and i dare say berardi got robbed that season. They just had to give it to someone from the team that finished first

          2. Maybe he didn’t deserve MVP but he was easily top 5 in Serie A that year. This season Leao scored notably against Roma, Inter, Atalanta (twice), PSG or Rennes (twice) so in the big games he’s clutch despite being targeted by opposing teams. I don’t think Pulisic would have the same impact as he scored only against Newcastle in big games. We already lose Giroud, we should not sell any other starter. If Inter says no to sell Barella, we can say no to any offer as we are debt free.

        1. Indeed. But getting a decent rw is easy..berardi 4 example is sure to switch this summer. I hoped we’d snatch Bakayoko from psv last summer, now his price went up, up, like expected
