Official: Marinelli will officiate Milan-Monza – the precedents for both teams

By Oliver Fisher -

The officiating crew for the game between AC Milan and Monza on Saturday evening at San Siro has been confirmed, with Livio Marinelli the referee.

As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it confirm, Livio Marinelli will be the referee for the game between the Rossoneri and their Lombardy neighbours, and he will be assisted by assistants Zingarelli and Palermo as linesmen plus the fourth official Prontera. The VAR chief will be Guida, with Mondin assisting him.

Milan have only two previous precedents with Marinelli. The first was the 0-0 draw against Bologna in the second half of the Scudetto-winning season, and the most recent was the 4-2 win against Udinese to open the current campaign.

For Monza however there is a much bigger sample size and it is not quite as positive as he has taken charge of six of their games with zero wins obtained. Instead, they amassed four draws and two defeats.
