AC Milan Women are closing in on the signing of midfielder Marta Mascarello as their summer revolution continues, a report claims.
According to Tutto Calcio Femminile, Milan are close to signing Mascarello. The player is said to have conducted a medical ahead of a move to the club in wha would be quite the coup for the Rossonere.
Mascarello is a defensive midfielder who has played a total of 22 matches for Fiorentina. While they are not known for their goal-scoring prowess, as they’ve only scored a total of four goals for the team, their value relies on their ability to recover balls and bring defensive stability to the middle of the park. The midfielder has shown a lot of promise, as they once played a stormer of a game for Italy against New Zealand in the 2020 Algarve Cup.
The midfielder recently suffered a long, injury spell due to an ACL tear. She has since recovered from the injury and has yet to return to her pre-injury form. However, if she does so, then Milan would have quite the player on her hands, as she would make them a team that can challenge for titles next season. Mascarello would also be the third former Fiorentina player to join Milan within the past year, as she’ll join fellow, former teammates Alia Guagni and Martina Piemonte on the squad.
