The Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala has claimed that it could take a year before full approval arrives from the City Council for AC Milan and Inter to build their new stadium.
The two Milano-based clubs have been working on the project for a very long time and they have faced several setbacks in that period, with both sides expressing their frustration that they have not even been able to set a date to break ground.

Sala clarified some important aspects of the construction of the new Milan stadium during an interview with Calcio e Finanza in which he admitted that the green light is not yet close, with his comments relayed by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it.
“In the city council, to decide on the stadium, I think it will take a year or so. Now, unfortunately, this stadium story is so troubled and my intention is to take it one step at a time,” he said.
“The next step will be to receive, on November 18, the result of the public debate. From this, we will have to formally respond either by accepting the observations that have been made, or by rejecting them by arguing. After that the council will deliberate.
“At that point the teams will have the task, on the one hand of building the executive project and on the other hand, of explaining better how San Siro would be dismantled, unless you find other interests on the road. Opinions change in a year.
“I have the impression that on a subject like this, when we go to the council there may not be the classic division between center-left and center-right. But this is my impression to date, in a year who knows how things will be.”
Milan president Paolo Scaroni was recently asked if there is a possibility that Milan could build a new stadium away from the site of the current San Siro if things took too long and possibly without Inter, and he did not seem against the idea.
Sounds like regardless of the public opinion the council will oppose it and argue against it.

This burecracy hurdles will put nation back to stone age ….clubs can’t compete with other league clubs, league behind others in terms of revenue…when you can’t even get the basics right then why complain of not playing in world stage. With better stadia clubs earning will increase and visibility too….clubs will attract stars instead of loosing their talents….increase their domestically acquired talents by integerating stars with them….such a passionate loving fans in Italy but led by clowns in political circle

Milan would be wise to consider Sesto Giovanni, Italy is a nation enmeshed in the fetters of kabals and corrupted old men who will fight tooth and nail for their daily bread. Cardinale would be wise to chart new territory and lead Milan into the future.

Cardinale just got the reason to build new stadium without inter.
Replacing a piece of culture is a delicate process. I imagine that most of the people who wants us to move to San Sesto have never even looked at the area. Gameday revenue may be suffering because we don’t have our own stadium, but it’s nothing compared to how much we lack behind in commercial and broadcast revenue.
Sesto is still located in Milan and it have easy access to reach the area.
So i doubt the gameday revenue will suffering when tons of Milan fans travels to other Italy region or evern other country when Milan play away match.
If i’m on Cardinal position right now, i would say Fvck this shit and go straight to Sesto.
Build in Sesto and be done with this garbage. It will never get built in San Siro – too corrupt. Move on and build without Inter
