Journalist Pietro Mazzara has questioned the decision of the AC Milan squad to not approach the Curva Sud at full-time, and the publication of a post-match photo from the dressing room.
Milan fell a goal behind against Como on Saturday evening, but they managed to come back and record a second consecutive Serie A win thanks to second half goals from Christian Pulisic and Tijjani Reijnders.
However, there was a rather sad ending to the game as the team left the field to jeers rather than celebrating with the fans. The Curva Sud announced before the game that their 15-minute protest would continue, and at full-time even after the win they criticised the team.
Mazzara published his weekly column for MilanNews in which he touched upon the importance of Christian Pulisic and Tijjani Reijnders plus the sporting director issue. He spoke about what happened after the full-time whistle in the Como gae.
“Jeers are the most civil form of protest, because they penetrate the soul and convey the idea that what the fan is seeing – paying a lot for a ticket or season ticket – does not like,” he began.
“The fan has the sacrosanct right to whistle at the players who wear the shirt of their favorite team, because in those whistles there is a sense of disappointment but also of love, first and foremost for the colours.
“At the end of Milan-Como, the Rossoneri players did not even approach the Curva Sud, which is continuing its protest in all areas of Milan, and it was seen with the naked eye how Mike Maignan, with the rank of captain, invited his teammates not to go towards the blue sector.

“A choice that did not go unnoticed, whose purpose – perhaps – was to protect the group from other whistles? We do not know this, because it is not given to know what the Sud would have done seeing the players arrive under the sector, but it seemed a reckless choice.
“Being the captain is not an easy thing and you have to read the situations, even the ones you don’t like… Milan are ninth and no one can be happy with what they are experiencing. Everyone is free to think what they want, but not even going towards it marked a potential breaking point…
“And the publication of the group photo, inside the dressing room, to celebrate the victory against Como seemed a bit out of place. For Milan, in any context, winning against Como must be normal and not an event to be celebrated as if you had won an important derby and a high-level match.
“The moment is particular, of course, but you must not get too excited, also because Como bulldozed Milan in the first 45 minutes of the game and the whistles – I repeat legitimate – at half-time were fully deserved.”
Screw off, i don’t blame the team for not going to the fans, and I’m happy they celebrated together in the changing room.
Being happy for beating Como, yeah you roor for Cardinale & co
The media and fan environment around Milan is so toxic. The media tells this team Milan fail because of their lack of Italians. Media tells the fans this team is failing because of American influence. The reality it this team is failing because the atmosphere created is so toxic how can any work? The never backed the 24/25 squad, never. Protests started from the get go. The fans have no reason to jeer the team after. What is the curva doing to make this team better? Good for the players for turning their backs on those drug dealing psychopaths
You said everything correctly. Kudos to you for your comment 👏. A conspiracy to destroy the club because it is not Italian enough. Italian national team full of average and overpriced players. The Italian league has been destroyed and below average for a decade, but they would make Milan a provincial Italian team for a lot of money. No luck period.
Curva Sud protested against the team for several games straight, and would rather sing about Gerry Selling the club than support the team on the pitch during their difficult times.
And now they expect the players to “appreciate” that sort of support? Go Rot in Hell Curva Sud. You don’t deserve this team at their best, since you don’t support them at their worst.
👏👏👏 I may not be always happy.. but I always support the team.
I love this comment. They should go to hell!
Curva Sud are the worst fans in the world. An embarrassment to the club. They are more concerned about drawing attention to themselves than they are about supporting the team and the players. It is easy to support the team when they are winning and doing well. A true fan supports the team when they are struggling and need it most. We call those people fair-weather fans.
The players don’t owe them anything. These same idiot clowns were protesting last season when we were in second place, and demanding that Pioli be fired. Well that worked out well didn’t it?
What the Curva is really upset about is that the club will no longer let them run their illegal operations inside the stadium anymore. Criminals, thugs and fools. Not fans.
Fans have a right to do whatever they want, I get that but I just don’t understand booing after a win or removing support for the team in difficult times or incessantly jeering the whole team while trying to perform in games. I feel for the players because I can see on the pitch that they’re trying really hard. You want to display your disgust with management fine, make it about the management but the curva especially co-signed alot of the ills currently in the team. They should not be the ones to talk or jeer for that matter. They should jeer themselves if anything
