Mediaset: Chances of Rangnick to Milan drop again; Allegri and Spalletti stance revealed

By Oliver Fisher -

There has been a slowdown in the negotiations regarding a role at AC Milan for Ralf Rangnick, according to a report.

We learned via our correspondent Vito Angele that negotiations between the two parties have not stopped and that he remains the dream appointment for CEO Ivan Gazidis.

SportMediaset (via MilanNews) believe that the chances of Rangnick’s arrival on the Milan bench have suffered a drop in the last hours. The German is taking time despite the reassurances and the great esteem that Ivan Gazidis has towards him.

The current Red Bull Head of Football did not like the words of Boban and Maldini in recent weeks and has not felt accepted, with the Croatian’s farewell seemingly not enough to convince him to accept the challenge at hand.

Maldini’s position is still pending and if he stayed there could be clashes. The current picture therefore does not satisfy the former Schalke manager who asks for full powers also on the market.

Rangnick still remains on pole but it is a fragile situation. The Spalletti idea doesn’t seem like a track destined to heat up again, just as Allegri’s ambitions do not coincide with those of the AC Milan club. Stefano Pioli has therefore a good chance to remain on the Milanese bench, even if Rangnick’s shadow is always there.
