Mediaset: Frattesi will not be Tonali’s replacement but €58m-rated duo are targets

Sandro Tonali will soon be sold to Newcastle United in a club record deal but Davide Frattesi will not be his replacement, according to a report.

As reported by SportMediaset (via PianetaMilan), Milan could earn as much as €80m from Tonali’s sale when factoring in bonuses which gives them a nice amount of cash to rebuild the midfield with.

Frattesi from Sassuolo will not be the man who comes in to replace Tonali, however. Although Milan may well be interested he is not seen as a player with the right characteristics to directly replace his compatriot.

On the contrary, the Rossoneri management are very keen on Tijjani Reijnders of AZ Alkmaar, while another name is Florentino Luís of Benfica who is believed to be valued at around €40m.

Luca Marchetti of Sky stated last night that Milan have made AZ Alkmaar star Reijnders one of their priorities for the midfield and that he could leave for €18m, which is negotiable.

  1. News is getting worse here, Frattesi plus 40m would have softened the blow but not having an actual proven replacement lined up is a bit chaotic.

Decision to sell is one thing – I don’t like it but I accept the choice – but not having a succession plan in place is really not a good look.

        1. They should be yours too..the reason 95% are complaints is because they are Milan fans…we have just sold our standard bearer and rather than soften the blow with a decent player like Frattesi, we will wind up with another CDK will he won’t he be good situation…

Like I said…support of Cardinale is moronic

          1. I doubt anyone here is supporting Cardinale. Some of us just aren’t shouting “Cardinale is worse than Hitler” in every post. I’m sure no one, absolutely no one, thinks he’s good for the club what that’s what we got and crying about it here doesn’t make a difference. Just makes reading the comments really boring. Same sh*t, different day.

          2. “Fans my ass, you celebrate negative news and call every positve news fake”

The number of “Milan is pathetic”, “we’re a feeder club” comments is really showing the “love” of the real fans here. And all those comments are always filled with smileys like it’s a good thing. They only care about being right with their doom & gloom predictions. Even if mercato hasn’t even opened, they have declared it to be a massive failure and nothing’s gonna change that. Not even getting Mbappe for free.

  2. What did I say? Frattesi agreed with Inter, they did this business while Milan was going through the list of free players and sending emails to the top 30 to see who will maybe want to join.

  3. Each name written is a lie.

When they mention that Tonali will be sold?
The same things apply for income transfers. The will bring unknown players such as Vranckx Dest etc..

  4. Tonali to sign 6-year deal with Newcastle. That’s career risk. Just like Leicester, Newcastle will not be a big club for 6 years.

  5. Frattesi and Tonali are two different players. Frattesi is attack minded, Tonali is defensive. Frattesi is more of a Bennacer replacement.

  6. Read on goal.com which claimed that tonalinbroke down in tears when he learned that they wanted to sell him. Heartbreaking for a fan. Also read here that thuram has chosen inter instead of us. Now frattesi is also in serious doubt. S@#tbird bots will still defend them. #cardinaleout.

    1. Does the season start tomorrow in your imaginary world? or you cant wait till end of summer to judge?

      Freaking kids

    2. “Read on goal.com which claimed that tonalinbroke down in tears”

And from the interview if his agent:

“We read tears when we learned of the news of leaving Milan…
“No, absolutely, the boy is thinking about the national team”.
