Mediaset: Juventus target Milan captain as Allegri is braced for double exit in defence

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus could pursue AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli if they lose Merih Demiral this summer, according to a report.

According to broadcaster SportMediaset (via MilanNews), the likely sales of Demiral and Daniele Rugani have pushed Juventus to look for a signing for the centre-back department to make sure Max Allegri is not low on numbers for the rearguard.

Because of this, something is moving regarding Romagnoli who could leave Milan and move to Juventus before the start of the new season, especially given the uncertainty over the future of the Milan captain and the fact his agent is Mino Raiola.

Romagnoli’s future with the Rossoneri is far from obvious given that his contract expires in a year (30 June 2022), with no real negotiations having been started for the renewal which is not a priority for Milan. He has lost his role as the leader of the team and the first name on the team sheet with regards to the defensive department, despite the fact he wears the armband.

  1. He deserves to start wherever he goes. Bonucci and Chiellini will probably retire this season or next so he gets all the time himself with De Ligt.
I wouldn’t really prefer him going there but if no other offers arrive it’s best for him to leave. Give Gabbia time or get Lovato or Milenkovic from Fiorentina
