Renewal talks between AC Milan and Hakan Calhanoglu appear to have stalled for the time being with two suitors having emerged, a report claims.
According to what is being reported by the broadcaster SportMediaset (via MilanLive), there is still a vast difference between what Milan are willing to offer and what the playmaker is demanding to renew his deal.
Calhanoglu currently receives €2.5million net per season from Milan, with the club still ready to raise his salary but not to the €6.5m per year he wants. Instead, the Rossoneri management will go up to €5m net which is still doubling his pay, but the difference is large and time is running out.
It is a delay that could again trigger the pressing of a couple of clubs who have been following him for some time. Mediaset add that Manchester United are admirers of the 26-year-old but so are Napoli, with head coach Gennaro Gattuso keen on reuniting with his former pupil.
Everything though will depend on the next few months, with the former Leverkusen star having prioritised a stay at Milan.
