Mediaset: Midfielder who Chelsea consider ‘redundant’ is ‘really close’ to Milan move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have agreed personal terms with midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, a report claims, meaning only a deal with Chelsea is missing.

The Rossoneri’s midfield department looks set to undergo changes this summer, as the only two defensive midfielders to have a certain place in the squad next season are Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer.

Lucas Biglia has left as his contract expires and Rade Krunic is attracting interest from Torino, while Lucas Paqueta could also leave, so Bakayoko has been repeatedly linked recently as a possible target to reinforce depth.

According to what TV station SportMediaset are reporting (via MilanNews), Milan are ‘really close’ to landing Bakayoko. The Frenchman has found an economic agreement with the management of the Diavolo and desperately wants the move.

At present, therefore, only an agreement with Chelsea is missing, but the Blues consider the player redundant which means it should not be too big a problem.
