Mediaset: Milan ahead of Man Utd in race for winger with 28 goal contributions this season

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working to close the deal for Bodo/Glimt starlet Jens Petter Hauge but negotiations are continuing, according to a report.

On Friday morning we reported exclusively that Milan are very keen on landing the Norwegian youngster and that the Rossoneri are expected to make a serious move for the player in the coming days, having already contacted Hauge’s agent.

This has since been backed up by Fabrizio Romano, who in his latest update on Twitter confirmed Milan are ‘confident’ of completing the deal for Hauge in the next few days.

SportMediaset (via MilanNews) have offered their own update on the situation by confirming that Milan are working to close the deal but there are also other clubs interested, in particular Manchester United.

The Rossoneri still have an advantage over the competition, though. Bodo/Glimt are asking for €6million, while the club have tabled an offer worth €4m plus bonuses.

As per Transfermarkt, Hauge has 28 combined goals and assists across the Eliteserien and Europa League so far this season, with 17 goals and 11 assists.
