AC Milan have made new contacts with Barcelona over a deal for Jean-Clair Todibo and have made their opening offer, a report claims.
Catalan outlet Sport reported on Monday that Milan want Todibo, with Paolo Maldini having held a meeting with Barcelona directors Eric Abidal and Ramon Planes on Friday in Milano.
Then, La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed earlier on Wednesday that the Rossoneri have decided that a centre-back is needed in the upcoming mercato and that Todibo is indeed one of the potential options, though a discount of over 90% on his €150m release clause would be needed.
According to SportMediaset – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan held fresh talks with Barcelona on Tuesday regarding the 19-year-old, with Barca playing in Milano against Inter in the Champions League.
Maldini made an offer of €8million which includes a buy-back option in favour of the LaLiga side. Now, Milan are awaiting their decision.
