Mediaset: Milan raise their offer to Leao in bid to up the pressure

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are currently working with the lawyers representing Rafael Leao on his renewal, a report claims.

According to Claudio Raimondi’s latest for SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Milan are applying some heavy pressure to try and convince the Portuguese attacker to sign a new agreement with the Rossoneri.

The current deal is worth €1.5m net per season plus bonuses and will expire in June 2024, so Maldini and Massara are at work in Dubai with the lawyers of the former Lille man to try and make progress on the renewal front.

To convince Leao to sign a new deal and commit his long-term future to the club, Milan have raised their economic offer up to €7m net per season, which is getting close to what other sources have suggested his demands are. However, Raimondi does not mention whether this satisfied his requests.

  1. Luckily, he didn’t have that great of a world cup. He will need to be more realistic of the situation, and find a place where he can grow well.

    1. Yes right, he can’t have the starting spot because consider have privilege at ACM and made him not a team-player. Big European teams can’t use player like that.

I hope he can conclude that his best option is ACM, don’t go and be like Franck Kessie.

  2. Alex i will never agree with you concerning he is not a team player…I think Leao didn’t have many minutes because of his work rate , and he plays the same way in Milan, but Pioli makes a system that protects his lack of work rate when we don’t have the ball!
Still Leao is better than a lot of Portuguese player and I’m sure that he deserves a place in the starting eleven and he have proven it with his playing time and goal scored…
