Mediaset: Milan rocked as Raiola counters Donnarumma offer by making huge requests

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Mino Raiola still do not see eye to eye on the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to a report.

SportMediaset (via MilanLive) are reporting that Paolo Maldini, Ivan Gazidis and the rest of the management consider Donnarumma to be a pillar of the project are even willing to smash their internal salary cap in order to keep him.

There is a proposed agreement that provides for a bonus up to €1million for each season that Milan will play in the Champions League, for a duration of five seasons, which would keep away foreign clubs who might be tempted to offer a huge deal.

However, Mino Raiola has a totally different idea as he wants a €10million per year deal for only two seasons, which is something which has rocked the management despite the player’s wll to stay.

Not only is it a worry because of the instant pay hike he would receive, but also because the implication is that Raiola would take advantage of the economic recovery foreseen in two years in order to earn even more money for its client when negotiating another extension.

  1. It will be bad to lose Gigio but it seems his agent really don’t like the idea of him staying with Milan, upon all his proposals I don’t see any team who will be willing to accept, how I wish we ain’t having another player under his influence.

  2. Simply unacceptable. Get a new goalkeeper in. Just let the primadonna leave. This idiotic saga has to end. Learn from the mistake of not renewing or selling earlier, but cease being held hostage by Donnarumma and his so-called representative. Quit the stupid ass-kissing always mentioning how Gigio wants to stay etc. This is becoming quite pathetic…

  3. Donnarumma is top 2-3 goal keepers today and if Milan can’t pay, there r other clubs that r ready to take and pay him. For Milan and its fans, it is just another good player and for Donnarumma, Milan is just another club. There are enough clubs in Europe that r as good as Milan or better, so Donnarumma doesn’t lose anything. Milan also might find another good GK and don’t feel the loss of Donnarumma. Nothing to be emotional about it when money plays the biggest part in decision making in today’s world.

  4. Because of Donnarumma now everyone wants more money. Calhanoglu, Romagnoli, Kessie ..etc
It’s to dangerous for Milan to give even 7.5 as they want..

  5. If there is any truth to the rumors that Gigio wants to stay at AC Milan then, yes he should dismiss Raiola. I suspect (but could be wrong) however that Gigio is contractually tied to Raiola indefinitely which prevents him from giving Raiola the proverbial boot.
