Mediaset: Milan’s hope of midfielder’s return thwarted as PSG satisfy Chelsea with €45m bid

By Oliver Fisher -

Tiemoué Bakayoko’s return to Milan may not happen after all as Paris Saint-Germain have strongly entered the race to sign him, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have been strongly linked with a move for Bakayoko since the window opened at the end of last season, and his return seemed a formality at one stage until the deal and the talks began to stall.

According to SportMediaset (via MilanLive), PSG have now joined the race and have offered Chelsea a €5m paid loan and a €40m option to buy, a proposal that Chelsea likes more than those that have arrived from Milan in recent weeks.

The stalemate for Milan regarding the Bakayoko deal all stems from the figure of the option to buy that would be inserted into the deal, which means alternative targets are now being linked including the likes of Boubakary Soumaré of Lille and Andre Zambo-Anguissa of Fulham.
