AC Milan are in the hunt for at least one new striker and one of the names that is gathering a lot of pace is Alvaro Morata.
As has been reported by Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), there is actually no reason for Milan to fear the new contract that he is set to sign with his current club, Atletico Madrid.
Normally that would spell the end of any transfer speculation, but in this case, the renewal is only so that the Spanish side can protect his value and send him out on loan for the 2023/24 campaign.
The Rossoneri are very keen on bringing the Spanish striker in as he is the right technical profile for Stefano Pioli and he has scored goals in Serie A before with Juventus.
The only real issue is that he currently gets paid €9 million per season which is too much for Milan, so there will have to be some negotiation there.
If he’s the kind of players we’re looking for now, I’d prefer Icardi. His last season at the Turkish league (yeah I know, but still) was a beast.
And considering his hanging relation with Inter fans, would be so much fun to see him excel at Milan.
I agree Icardi would be much better option and he could have new life at Milan. The only problem is his significant 9ther and all the drama that comes with it
They are both expensive and Icardi brings on a lot of Wanda-rama. Morata loan wouldn’t hurt as a stop gap seeing as to how we struggle to sign primary targets.

Mateo Retegui? Anyone? He’s in his last 6 months of the contract, has Italian passport and he’s a fresh Italy NT player.
Fiorentina are after him, seems to be priced at 15 million. That is a pretty low fee. Don’t know why we can’t try for him.

Retegui complicated because his club only owned 50% his transfer fee. The third party have the other 50% . You pay 15-20m euro to tigres only to get 50% . And you still need to pay third party
Thats why big club not interesting . This is example ACM pay tigres 15m euro for 50% retegui but third party dont want to sell because they wanted ACM growing retegui market value and later they will get more money after retegui value increased by forcing retegui reject contract renewal & moving him to rich club

Please, pass on this, Milan. Morata is one of my least favorite players. I simply cannot understand why he is considered. I’d much, much rather that they keep Colombo.
No real reason to fear the renewal, because they were never serious about signing such a woeful player.
