Mediaset: Rebic destined to make Milan debut in derby against Inter

By Oliver Fisher -

Ante Rebic looks set to miss the game against Hellas Verona – meaning his debut could be the derby against Inter, a report claims.

The Croatia international signed for the Rossoneri on deadline day, joining on a two-year loan from Eintracht Frankfurt with Andre Silva going the other way.

Shortly after signing, Rebic jetted off to join up with his national team ahead of their 2020 European Championship qualifiers against Slovakia and Azerbaijan.

This means that he will not be able to spend the international break integrating with his new team, and contrary to reports from La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), he will not start against Hellas Verona.

Instead, SportMediaset believe that his debut for Milan will come in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter, a team that ironically he was heavily linked with before his move to the Rossoneri.

Marco Giampaolo’s message has been clear: “Whoever arrives does not expect to play immediately” – and for Rebic it is a case of adjusting to his new head coach’s system and learning the various movements and responsibilities.
