Mediaset: The mould for Rangnick’s Milan is made – his team will be inspired by Leipzig

By Oliver Fisher -

Ralf Rangnick has made some specific requests before he will accept the job as AC Milan’s next head coach and sporting director, a report claims.

There are conflicting reports circulating in the media at present regarding whether Rangnick has agreed a deal to become Milan’s next head coach or not.

According to what SportMediaset are reporting on Saturday (via MilanLive), if he does take over then Rangnick’s Milan will be inspired by the model of ‘his’ Leipzig side, who have become a force in the Bundesliga and now the Champions League under his tutelage.

He will ask for a group made up of young talented players, but with particular tactical qualities: they must be flexible and dynamic and must be able to play in multiple roles. They must have a strong personality, but understand the importance of the team.

In summary, the Milan of Rangnick will not be full of established elite players, but more or less young players ready for the leap in quality.

One name above all summarises the prototype of the player created in this image: Marcel Sabitzer, currently the captain of Leipzig, who joined as a winger but has blossomed as a creative midfielder.
