AC Milan have not completely given up on signing Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina but the pursuit seems very tough, it is claimed.
According to SportMediaset (via MilanNews), the track leading to Milenkovic continues to be very complicated for Milan due to a combination of Fiorentina’s unwillingness to sell the Serbia international and therefore the price that it would take for them to change their mind.
However, there is an alternative in mind, as Schalke’s Matija Nastasic is considered a very viable target given it would be a low-cost deal and the Bundesliga side are willing to accept a loan formula.
Milan’s desire for a centre-back has turned into desperation, it seems. After Leo Duarte entered quarantine due to testing positive for Coronavirus, Milan are down to just having Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia as their senior centre-back options, with Alessio Romagnoli and Mateo Musacchio both not back from injury yet.
