Pundit and former Arsenal player Paul Merson has made the bold claim that neither Inter nor Milan stand a chance against Manchester City, if they make the final.
City will face Real Madrid in the semi-final later this month to try and book a place in the final in Istanbul which will take place in June, and Merson believes that if they do get past the LaLiga giants then the trophy is as good as theirs.

“They are now two games away, and they are Real Madrid away, because I think they will look after them at home, but the away game, if Real Madrid get going and Man City have a bad 45 minutes, then they can hurt you,” he said.
“And Man Utd in the FA Cup final, who will have to stop them from winning the treble because I would have thought they would have won the league by then. They will be in the final if they get it right against Real Madrid and there is no way in a million years either Inter Milan or AC Milan can beat them.
“So, for me, they have got two football matches [to win the treble]. And people will say, ‘oh, but they have got Brighton away’, but they can lose to Brighton, they can lose a football match now, they do not have to win every football match.

I would understand if he said that ManCity would be a massive favorite over either Milan or inter, but to say there is no chance in a million years, that’s reckless.
Anything can happen in 1 game. An early Milan goal, a red card, an injury, can easy change the outcome of a game. Didn’t they lose that way 2 years ago vs Chelsea in the final? With an early Havertz goal.
They also shouldn’t put the cart in front of the horse. First they need beat Real to get to the final. No one gave Real a chance last year but they still went on to knock out PSG, Chelsea, ManCity and Liverpool to win the UCL.
