AC Milan winger Junior Messias believes both the result and the performance were important as they beat Wolfsberger 5-0 in Austria.
After defeat in Hungary against ZTE the Rossoneri were in no mood for messing around on Wednesday night, with Rafael Leao, Ante Rebic, Messias, Yacine Adli and Matteo Gabbia all scoring in the rout.
The Brazilian winger spoke to Milan TV after the game to reflect on another important outing in terms of fitness but also one that provided positive signs.
“Today both the result and the performance were important, given the last game we played. Today it was really important to win and convince, and we did it. Surely there are things to improve, our condition can be a bit wrong. But we are on the right path,” he said (via MilanNews).
“We are a united group. We did a bike ride together and it was great. Now we continue to work to get in condition at the start of the season. The confidence of the club has always been there, certainly I have to do better. I think this year I can do better than last season.”
