MN: Messias eager to repay Milan’s faith – the right wing spot is currently his

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will soon take to the field for their final preseason game against Vicenza at the Menti Stadium, and it is expected that Junior Messias will get another start.

MilanNews writes how Messias arrived back at Milan after having had his loan from Crotone turned into a permanent move. He came with the desire to repay Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s faith, and he has had opportunity to work from day one of preseason with Pioli and the team, unlike last season when he came on deadline day had to follow a personal program to get in condition.

The Brazilian winger impressed in the wins over FC Köln, Wolfsberger and Marseille, finding the net against the latter two, and while those are preseason games he certainly seems to be ahead of Alexis Saelemaekers in the pecking order.

Charles De Ketelaere must be added to the equation as must Yacine Adli and there are unknowns regarding their position on the pitch. Whatever Pioli has in mind, Messias is doing his chances no harm by scoring regularly and impressing.
