Junior Messias believes that AC Milan squad are starting to get back towards full fitness, and they certainly showed it during the rout of Wolfsberger tonight.
Milan ran out 5-0 winners in Austria with five different scorers getting in on the act, starting with Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic in the first half and continuing into the second half with Messias, Yacine Adli and Matteo Gabbia adding some gloss to the scoreline.
Messias came on for Leao at half time and Alexis Saelemaekers switched flanks, with the former Crotone man scoring the goal to make it 3-0 thanks to Theo Hernandez’s excellent low ball across the edge of the six-yard box allowing for an easy tap-in.
The Brazilian winger spoke to Sky Italia after the game to comment on the performance and the season ahead, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“We are starting to take the right step. It is normal that we are not in the best condition, but we try to improve day by day to get ready for the first day,” he said.
On last season: “I’m happy, winning the title has a different flavour.”
On the Champions League: “Last year we had a great group, it wasn’t easy. This year we need to do better.”
On Adli and Origi: “They integrated immediately, Adli is a great player and he showed himself on the pitch. We are a united group.”
On the objectives for the season: “As a team, continue to win. Definitely do better than last year.”
So glad we wasted money on this guy. What are we short for CDK? 2m? What did we pay for Messias?…. when a club is as cheap and penny pinching as we are every bit matters. Waste of funds. Great person but not a good enough player..
You can’t tell me Salemaakers is better than Messias.He is much productive than him yet you keep saying he isn’t good enough
I never said that my man, I never compared the 2. Saelemaekers sucks too. Great effort but poor quality. Now if you could combine messias and Saelemaekers into one player you might have a decent player on your hands but still it’s questionable. RW is a joke for us yet we still are not upgrading or changing formations to hide this weakness..
I know it will be waste of funds 3 weeks ago when we sign for this player. But some idiot says u ungrateful fans blabla.. now we can’t even sign for CDK or Ziyech.
Sell lord saladmaker to free room for CDK/ziyech. Use this junior as back up RW
Milan needs new sparks like ziyech at the RW but he’s outrageous salary is making it difficult for Milan ..I hope we finalize CDK this week
