The Rossoneri had led twice through two Suso goals either side of half time, but were pegged back first by Antonio Candreva and then by a 91st minute Ivan Perisic tap-in.

Who impressed for Vincenzo Montella’s men, and who failed to pull their weight?

Starting XI

Donnarumma (7): Gigio did all he could to keep out the Nerrazzuri attack with some great saves but unfortunately conceded two goals.

Abate (6.5): Captain Ignazio had an up and down game. Made a few good defensive moves but barely contributed in attack.

Paletta (5.5): We barely saw Gabriel in this encounter. He hasn’t made a single tackle or interception throughout the game.

Gomez (6.5): Many doubted the Paraguayan before the match but he proved doubters wrong and was the best defender in the game for the Rossoneri.

De Sciglio (5.5): A poor performance from Mattia continues his inconsistency, raising questions whether he actually has a future with the Rossoneri.

Kucka (5.5): The Slovak put on a lacklustre performance in midfield despite making a few good defensive moves to stop the opposition midfielders.

Locatelli (6.5): Playing his first Derby della Madonnina, Manuel Locatelli showed a lot of confidence in midfield with a solid performance, especially when defending.

Bonaventura (7): Getting his second assist of the season, Giacomo put in a fine performance in midfield, creating chances and coming close to scoring himself.

Suso (8 – MOTM): Incredible performance from the Spaniard who scored both of the Rossoneri’s goals making it now 4 goals this season.

Bacca (5.5): It’s now six games without a goal for the Colombian striker who’s had a poor run of form recently after having scored 6 goals this season.

Niang (6.5): It wasn’t that great a performance by the Frenchman, but he did cause problems for the rival defense on the left side of the attack.

Substitutions

Fernandez (5.5): Mati didn’t make much of an impact after coming on for Carlos Bacca and marked poorly in the corner-kick that to the equalizer.

Lapadula (N/A): Coming on for Niang, Gianluca Lapadula was brought on to add energy and help out the defense and maybe look to finish off the game.

Pašalić (N/A): The Croatian came late on so didn’t do much or make much of an impact. His marking in the corner-kick that led to the equalizer was poor, though.

The Coach

Montella (5.5): Vincenzo Montella didn’t quite have it going his way, choosing to sit back and defend from the start was a mistake, though the counter-attacks worked well at times, and the substitutions weren’t really the right ones.
