Tuttosport: Milan expected to accelerate renewal of key forward after Everton snub

By Oliver Fisher -

Despite securing a number of key renewals in 2022, the work is not done for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara as they are still working on other contract extensions.

As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews) this morning, Milan will have to find an agreement and resolve the contractual situation of Giroud, whose current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2022-23 season.

As had emerged in recent weeks, the conclusion of the January transfer window was expected to mark the point where talks with Giroud accelerated and given that they window shut on Tuesday, that time has come.

Milan will offer Giroud a one-year extension with an option for the 2024-25 season, at the same figures as his existing deal, which is €3.5m net per season. The parties are calm and there have so far been no negative signals, and in the winter window the striker even rejected a big offer from Everton.

      1. Agree, at the moment, we can’t do without him, and it doesnt look we will get anyone better. He does the job – i’m glad he is here.
