Vitiello: ‘2-3 additions’ to ‘raise the level of the squad’ expected in the summer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are expected to try and build on the squad further this summer with ‘two or three additions to raise the level’, it is claimed.

Anto Vitiello writes in his column for MilanNews that Milan have already achieved their target for the season from an economic point of view because getting into the quarter-finals of the Champions League – when factoring in bonuses, prize money, the market pool and ticket sales – leads Milan to almost €100m in revenue.

He adds that the club consider it ‘very important’ to reach a break even budget as soon as possible and that Milan are ‘almost there’ thanks to the work done in recent years, because then the management will ‘have more money available for the mercato in the future’.

The plan is that the team ‘will be improved every year’ while there are ‘2-3 additions also expected in the next summer window to raise the level of the squad’, though no names or positions to that effect are mentioned.

  1. 2-3 addition i think RW ,Striker , CB . We need to sell injury prone or loan them if no club willing to buy like Rebic,Calabria,Origi. Player that already stuck like saladmaker need to be selling.

  2. They were supposed to do that last summer. And they failed miserably. None of the newcomers have helped the team. Not a single bit. Actually forcing CDK to play only makes the team weaker to be honest.
