CM: January loan hypothesis fading as Milan’s plan for Adli becomes clear

By Oliver Fisher -

With the January transfer window just around the corner, the future of Yacine Adli continues to attract a lot of speculation.

Calciomercato.com report that the Rossoneri management and the player’s agent Moussa Sissoko had begun to look around for a loan solution for the second part of the season given that Stefano Pioli has only given him one start in 2022-23 so far.

Cremonese expressed their interest and they were ready to offer him playing time in Serie A, but the destination did not appeal much to the former Bordeaux man. Clubs in Ligue 1 were keen too, but that solution was discarded as the whole point of a loan would be to get him more used to Italian football.

At present there are no solutions that satisfy all the parties involved and for this reason the idea of retaining Adli until the end of the season is gaining momentum. The staff are evaluating his progress in training and believe that the 2023-24 season will be the one where he blossoms.
