GdS: Milan admirers of Morocco midfielder as club president confirms approach from Italy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were left impressed by Azzedine Ounahi’s performances at the World Cup and could make a move to sign him, a report claims.

Morocco were the surprise package of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the 22-year-old Ounahi was a big part of that. The Angers midfielder has risen to prominence with his impressive performances for his country, and now there is a flurry of speculation about his future.

According to Carlo Laudisa of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan watched his performances and liked what they saw, as Ounahi combined work rate with technical quality and could therefore plug a gap in the midfield having not signed an established player over the summer to replace Kessie.

Interestingly, Angers president Said Chabane recently stated that the club have received multiple offers from top European clubs for Ounahi.

Speaking to RTL Sport, Chabane said: “We have offers for Azzedine Ounahi. Approaches from big clubs and medium clubs. It comes from everywhere. Italy, Spain, England and France. Our wish is to find a deal in January, but that it remains until the end of the season.”

The Rossoneri could therefore try to secure a deal for the talented young midfielder that would see him join ahead of 2023-24, but they seemingly face a lot of competition.

  1. Of course Milan are interested. We’re “interested ” in everyone especially if they’re Ftench or African. We don’t even go for Italians then wonder why we had registration issues with CL squad.

If we have any sense, the Moroccan we go after is Ziyech. He would be most welcome. A PROPER RW.

Not Saladmaker or Messias who impress in a crap friendly tournament.

    Ziyech or GTFO!

  2. What do you mean by Ziyech or nothing, obviously Milan made a mistake of not signing him during the last window because of slight miscalculation on the path of our remarkable directors which happens but now even Chelsea would think twice before allowing him to leave even on loan, but Milan can always get other younger and highly potentially potent player for the right wing role,I believe if Milan can manage to snap this player likened to Kessie on work rate and technically superior, I think it’s a win for me.Italy should review the rules guiding Serie A and upgrade the league to attract adequate sponsors and revitalise Italian football and the National Team!Forza Milan!
