MN: Milan in advanced talks to extend midfielder’s contract

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are in advanced talks to extend the contract of Bosnian midfielder Rade Krunic who joined the club in 2019, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News this evening, the Rossoneri want to keep the 28-year-old midfielder at the club for longer than the duration of his current deal.

The deal that he is currently on keeps him at the club until June 2024 which means that there is no serious rush to get him tied down. Despite that, it seems that a deal is very close to completion.

It is not reported how long the extension to his deal will be or whether his salary will be increased but it is likely being done to reward him for his performances last season.

He was very useful for Stefano Pioli as he filled in for various players in different areas of the pitch. He is expected to start against Udinese on Saturday.

  1. Good deal. Extend it till 2026 with a 1.8 mill salary (iirc he takes 1.5mill). Generous players like him that put the team first and don’t complain are always needed to fill gaps when there are emergencies and to improve the locker room.

Plus I think he’s not gonna be a star but he can provide a good contribution against most Serie A teams, we saw at the end of last season when he was a starter for all the last games and put solid performances.

  2. He deserves it!

Krunic is that type of versatile players who didn’t talk much, never complain or making drama, giving 100% every time he plays, and always been useful for the coach & team. But most people didn’t respect and acknowledged his works because he’s not as popular as Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappe, etc.

Just look at some comments who wants Milan to sell him or call him garbage :/
