Di Marzio: Milan reach agreement with Ibrahimovic for contract extension

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have reached an agreement with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for him to extend his contract with the club for one year, a report claims.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Swedish striker will be a Milan player next season despite his contract expiring on June 30.

He underwent knee surgery at the end of May which means the earliest he is expected to be back on the pitch is January 2023.

For that reason, the fixed part of his salary will be lower than what he was earning previously. It is expected to be around €1 million or €1.5 million. Bonuses will then be added to that salary based on the goals he scores and the assists he gets.

The signature is expected in the coming days and the player will continue his long relationship with Milan. It seems increasingly likely that the 40-year-old will be ending his career with the Rossoneri.
