GdS: Milan yet to find agreement with midfielder over contract renewal

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are still trying to find an agreement with Ismael Bennacer for the renewal of the Algerian’s contract, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are actively trying to make sure that they can secure the future of the midfielder as he has become a key part of the project under Stefano Pioli.

He did have a €50 million release clause in his deal which expired in the summer of 2019. It is thought that it will be put back in place in the new deal when that is signed.

The negotiations are very much underway to get the former Empoli midfielder locked down but they are yet to reach an agreement.

Considering renewals are being worked on for Pierre Kalaulu and Rafael Leao as well as the transfer market taking up a lot of resources, it could be some weeks before there is definitive movement.
