Some big decisions are facing the AC Milan leadership in the next few weeks, but all seem to be geared around an idea: becoming more Italian.
According to La Repubblica, the first task of the new sporting director will be to try and build an ‘Italian nucleus’ at the club. It is considered very important to build a squad that has experience of the league and also understands what it means to represent a club like Milan.
The basis will be the coach, who will be Italian or at least with experience in Serie A. The reinforcements for the squad will be known more clearly after the arrival of the new director and the coach, naturally.
However, the idea of going for a ‘tricolore’ revolution also extends to the playing staff. The current working group have already identified some players as targets for the summer, for example Samuele Ricci at Torino.
The youth sector will be very important in the coming years given the amount of talent in there. The hope is that the likes of Francesco Camarda, Davide Bartesaghi, Mattia Liberali, Kevin Zeroli, Filippo Scotti and others will end up becoming part of the future first-team core, in years to come.
So more years of nothing.
Bring back Pioli and get some players who want to win something.
Lol Bring Back Pioli is the dumbest thing anybody said. Just because now things are not going great doesnt mean we should go back to something that stopped working
We should bring back Romagnoli, Kjaer, Kessie, Tonali, Zlatan and Giroud too 🙂
And maybe Cafu as the RB.
And dig up Gunnar Nordahl’s grave a bring him back as a striker.
Maldini as director of sport AND left back. First player-director in Serie A history. Then of course Rino Gattuso to solve our DM problem and Sheva for our striker issues.
I like where this is heading. I was also thinking Sebastiano Rossi as the GK, right?
Bring back De Zerbi and get Milan Identity back firstly then players will have something to play for every time they wear the red and black shirt.
Allegri will be a waist of time ” never go back always move forward” Allegri is old school football Milan deserve better!
Diego Sia
Mattia Liberali
Francesco Camarda
Davide Barteseghi
Kevin Zeroli
Can play for some minutes tbh
Bring back Maldini and Massara kick Moncada Ibrahimovic bring a bundesliga coach like Toppmoller or Hutter from AS Monaco get D’Amico as a SP
Build an Italian nucleus at ACM? Then bring back the Italian physicist who knows more about nuclei than anyone else. No, I’m not referring to Enrico Fermi, but Paolo Maldini, who was the nucleus of great ACM teams who won everything for more than 20 years and, later, following his retirement, served as technical director, steering the club to a Scudetto and a CL semi-final.
That Maldini (and his deputy Massara) should be brought back into the fold is so blindingly obvious that one wonders why Cardinale and Furlani, who call the shots at ACM, can’t see it. Is their problem dietary in nature; that is, they’re constitutionally incapable of eating humble pie?
As long as MoneyYourBall Moncada still there, they will buy some random players from one way league like Ligue 1. Don’t expect too much bro
Let’s see what new SD and coach can cook but if they stick to 343:
Coppola and Bartesaghi can easily be our covers for Thiaw-Gabbia-Pavlo.
Liberali to study from Pulisic on that RW. The boy is ready.
There’s Mattia Zanotti of Lugano owning that RB position and is quite attacking minded too. Easily slots in for Jimenez on RWB/RM if needed.
Ricci, Prati, Fabbian are exciting midfield options but let’s see first what will happen with Reijnders. Voices about City’s interest are not cooling down. I’d also like to see them explore possibility on Bernabe from Parma. That kid’s going places. Not Italian but plays Serie A
And he’s doing very well.
Ah Zanotti. Deep cut. I’ve been peeping him too.
He’s Inter youth so it ckuld be tricky to lure him to the other side of Milano. But boy has potential and should be looked at closely.
Let’s see what the new management will decide!
I won’t be surprised if their decisions will be guided ONLY by financial reasons.
About football? Who cares…
