AC Milan are looking for a new right-back, and they could close a deal with Almeria for Marc Pubill on Wednesday.

Following the departures of Kyle Walker and Davide Calabria, and with Emerson Royal not a part of the plans, Milan ares searching for a right-back who will ideally be the starter on that side. It is a position they have struggled with for some time now, and they need a long-term fix.

Acceleration for Pubill

Sky reports that the Rossoneri are interested in Guéla Doué, but Strasbourg continue to demand €25m, which is why the chances of signing Marc Pubill are increasing.

The Almeria full-back is valued at €15m, and Milan could try to close the deal as early as Wednesday (July 16) to beat out competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Barcelona.

In the 2024-25 season, Pubill played in the Segunda Division with Almeria, Spain’s second division. He made 36 appearances, scoring one goal and provided four assists, and now it seems he is ready to move on after they failed to gain promotion.

It comes after he had established himself as a talent to watch in LaLiga during the 2023-24 campaign, earning him the title of being the starting right-back in the Spain U21 national team too.

      1. Maybe enough to get Fran Garcia, who is going to be much better, being nearly the starting LB for Real Madrid for the last four seasons.

  1. This reminds me of when we signed Comandini and Berlusconi apparently said “so our new no9 is form Serie B?!?!”

  2. Very interesting ….. very exciting ….. very promising!!!!!
A boy who has ONLY played one season in the spanish second division ….. BUT HE IS CHEAP!!!! ONLY €15 million ….. bet he will be on the transfer list next summer!!!!!

  3. I’d rather to play Vittorio magni than the unknown foreign soldier. No need budget, low salary + no agent commission.

    1. I agree completely.

If only there had been some kind of leader in the same position – a captain even. A fellow Lombard who would die for the club. Someone like that could have really helped to phase Magni into the first team over the next couple of seasons.

Ah but it’s all too good to be true, no such person exists…

      1. hope Max use them both Magni & Pubill,
royal is total flop, Sael & Jimenez is more like defensive wingers than RB,
w/ Pubill, Magni & Tera i think RB it’s good enough

    2. Totally agree, just spend the €35m on a left back, we have plenty of options at right back..
€35 would get us Udogie or add a counterpart and get Cambiasso.

Keep the tradition Maldini, Janklu and Theo!!!,
Get a left back to maintain the left hand side with Leao!!!

  4. At this point we should apologize to Calabria, and sign him for free. None of the prospects that we are linked with is any better than Calabria.

    1. A statue would be better than Calabria. He couldn’t beat out Emerson, he was a backup at Bologna and they don’t want him either. His days playing RB for any good team are over.

  5. The racism continues – signing a player from the Spanish second division is preferable to signing a player from Serie A?

    1. Or just maybe Italy is not producing great football players any more. Which is why they missed the last 2 World Cups and may miss the next one as well. Stop living in the past.

    2. Racist???

Do you even know what the definition of a racist is you twat????

How much of a donkey are you really???

      WOW

  6. If we were smarter we could be going into this one-game-a-week season with Calabria backed up by Magni. We didn’t need Royal and we wouldn’t need anyone now.

If Gerry want’s to make a profit he needs to get better multi-millionaires to make his decisions for him.

  7. Or… Just maintain Jimenez and Terra on the right. (while letting ER leave). And focus on the left.
Bart is there, but I would honestly prefer him as CB ( he should consider that career option too), so incase any one of Thiaw or Tomori leaves we needn’t necessarily find a replacement. Then we must get two for the left or just one , and rotate with Bart and Jimenez.
Terraciano if not sold should be sent back to his RB role or converted to CB. Midfield ain’t good for him or the team

  8. Pubill is miles better than Calabria. What are people even smoking on here? Pubill is also wanted by other major teams.

Oh I get it. He’s Not Italian.

    1. You do realize that we can only include 17 non-homegrown players to the UCL list? And out of 8 homegrown players, at least 4 must be academy trained? Last year we are unable to register all our players to the UCL (Jovic and someone else – dont rember who – was left out). So signing homegrown players should be our top priority. And homegrown does not mean Italian. Homegrown is any player who played between ages 15 and 21 for at least 3 years in Italy e.g. Piotr Zielinski even though is Polish he does qualify as homegrown for Italian and as academy product to Udinese.

      1. What UCL? But let’s pretend we’re in it this season:

        Torriani – Academy
        Gabbia – Academy
        Colombo – Academy
        Bartesaghi – Academy
        Terraciano (GK)/Sportiello – Homegrown
        Ricci – Homegrown
        Terraciano (RB) – Homegrown
Bondo – Homegrown (21 years old, turns 22 in September, arrived in Italy in 2022)

        8 players. Thanks for playing.

        1. This is exactly my point. Out of the players you mentioned only Gabbia and Ricci are starters, and could bring quality. The rest of them are nowhere near being on the level to compete in the UCL. Out of 8 spaces, we can fill 2 spots with quality players. And of course we are not in the UCL this season, but we should build our squad assuming that we will compete in UCL.

    2. @Goku don’t waste your time responding to them. Rubentus want to snatch him under our nose now. Then hear them crying about not closing deals on time.

  9. He’s only our 5th choice option LOL….guess we are just going down the list and seeing who’s left. Brilliant

While we wait and wait and wait our city rivals make smart signings like Bonny and soon to be Lookman.

We sold Reindjers BUT we cannot buy? Why? The Reindjers $$ went to balance the book! Awe man! Theo $$ was used for Ricci. SO UNLESS we SELL the players nobody seems to want; Chuk Musah RLC Pobega Emerson Okafor etc….we are STUCK WTH our thumbs up our arse.

    Brilliant!!!!

    Ahhhh…
