It seems that there is a new development regarding AC Milan’s stadium plans every week, and now another new potential site has emerged.
As reported this morning by the Milano edition of La Repubblica (via MilanNews), yesterday Paolo Scaroni was a guest at the M&A Meeting in AssoLombarda and he spoke in a very forthright manner about the plan to construct a new home.
“When everything seems in place, we forget the appeals to the Tar, to the Council of State and times become incredible. Even the obvious things that shouldn’t be the subject of discussion become the subject of debate,” he said.
These were words that conveyed a certain impatience for how the issue of the new stadium in Milan has been handled by the political authorities for years.
“We need legislation that will make us overcome the obstacles,” Scaroni added. He also ruled out the notion of restructuring San Siro: “Old and obsolete structure. How do we renovate a facility where two teams play?”
Meanwhile, news emerged yesterday regarding the possibility of a move to San Donato with the Mayor of the Comune – Francesco Squeri – confirming that there has been a meeting between his people and the Rossoneri over the hypothesis of a project involving the area.
Milan are keeping more possibilities open, even if the leadership remain convinced that the La Maura area is the right one with a project to be presented after the Easter holidays.
The hypothesis of Sesto San Giovanni is still very much alive with the respective Mayor Roberto Di Stefano having reiterated how his area would welcome Milan with open arms, also confirming guarantees on times for the project.
