MN: Milan want Chelsea’s Christensen or Fiorentina’s Milenkovic – why the Dane is ‘easier’ to sign

By Oliver Fisher -

Yet another report has emerged claiming that AC Milan are targeting Andreas Christensen of Chelsea as a potential defensive reinforcement.

According to MilanNews, Paolo Maldini and his collaborators are starting to negotiate to try and strengthen the squad available to Stefano Pioli and that includes replacing the injured Simon Kjaer who will be out until the end of the season after undergoing surgery on his knee ligaments.

The names ‘marked in red’ on Milan’s list are Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina and Andreas Christensen of Chelsea. La Viola want €15m for Milenkovic – who extended his contract by one year in the summer so the new deadline is June 2023 – but it remains to be seen whether Fiorentina will decide to sell as early as January if Vincenzo Italiano’s team continues to fight for a Europa League, spot.

Christensen on the other hand has a contract expiring in June 2022 so it would be ‘easier’ for Milan to sign him at the beginning of the new year. A cash sum could convince the Londoners to let him go and not lose him for nothing.
