El Nacional: Milan willing to pay €35m for Real Madrid forward as Mbappe pursuit complicates future

By Oliver Fisher -

The future of Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio is uncertain amid rumours that Kylian Mbappe will soon be moving to the Spanish capital and AC Milan are reportedly ready to pounce.

El Nacional writes that even though Asensio was expected to leave in the summer as offers came in, the Spain international knuckled down and has an impressive six goals in 19 appearances across LaLiga and the Champions League this season. Mbappe’s arrival could complicate things even if Asensio has regained the confidence of Carlo Ancelotti, the report mentions.

This is why it cannot be ruled out that he leaves at the end of the season when Mbappe is expected to move to Real on a free from PSG. Milan are leading the race for the 25-year-old and believe they can complete the operation after already landing Brahim Díaz and Theo Hernández from Los Blancos.

They would be willing to pay up to €35m to land him because a big budget has been set aside for a new forward to raise the quality of the department, but it remains to be seen if Madrid will let him go for this amount, whether the player wants to go and what Ancelotti thinks.
